Who is Devrin?
I am the son of a farmer who left home to be a soldier, a family man, a professional computer geek, and a community volunteer. I was raised by parents and grandparents who instilled work ethics whether it was working in the garden, cleaning house, or shoveling snow. I learned self discipline, teamwork, and various other "skills" in my service to my country.
I am an American Patriot who believes strongly in the Rights of The People, those freedoms which I served to protect. I believe in a higher power, but I am not a fan of the Church as the leaders tend to corrupt for their own gain (think of the wealth they have and the power they hold over their followers). I believe our country's two party system is ineffective government and we, The People, need to reform our government so the parties no longer have the power, that the power is restored to The People.
I beleive in The People, that there is good in mankind. I don't see race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, physical disabilities, or other forms of identification used to divide The People. We are strong when we unite. We can overcome all things and help make life better for all those around us.
This is Devrin.
Family
My wife, Alison, and I have been blessed with 2 wonderful children, Michael and Amanda. Michael has his own basement apartment (complete with man cave) in our home. Amanda is attending the University of Tennessee working towards her Masters Degree in education.
We also have our 2 Chihuahua's, Ziva (blond one) and Lizzy (black and white). These two rule the roost as Ziva is quite the bossy one and Lizzy, while seemingly timid, is actually the alpha and does what she wants.
My in-laws live a block over and we are fortunate to have them this close.
Hobbies
I enjoy a few hobbies to pass my free time. I am a member of the Rotary Club of Oak Ridge Sunset, I volunteer as the official clock/scoreboard operator for Oak Ridge High School soccer matches, and I enjoy spending time in the beautiful outdoors of East Tennessee.
I am also a bit of a computer nerd, but mostly because that is my professional background. I have owned my own computer service business and have had some great customers over the years. Presently I work for a great employer (not myself) and enjoy my work and coworkers.
I have also reconnected with the unit that I served with during Operation Desert Storm. The 37th Armor Regiment has a great history and has developed a strong alumni of more than 3,000 current members spanning several decades of service. I am currently serving as the alumni coordinator for 1st Battalion.
Contact Me
I had a simple form but these spammers kept misusing it. Not real cool in my opinion. Also, my host thought it might cause problems so I just did away with it. Thanks for visiting!
